My name is Laurie, also known as "Nana" by my granddaughters. I am a mother, a grandmother, an educator and a "Georgia Girl". As a child, growing up with my grandmother, Laura Bell, I always enjoyed sewing, but put it on the back burner for a long time.

I was introduced to the art of quilting three years ago by a little old lady at my Community Senior Center Building, and I fell in love with it. So after I learned the craft, I became the proud owner of "Nana's Needles & Thread Quilts". My favorite part of quilting has to be the "piecing". I enjoy seeing art come through the form of fabrics as they are pieced together. Making quilts, to me, is taking bits and pieces of fabric and making memories into something that can be shared throughout generations.

I enjoy taking trips to quilting seminars, with my fellow quilter friends. Quilting Retreats, Quilt Shows and fabric shopping have become a favorite hobby of mine as well. I have come to realize through my Quilt Trips and Quilting Retreats that quilters enjoy sharing the art and techiques of quilting. I still have much to learn as I take this journey and hope to meet more fans of the craft along the way.
